Mail in Bench Tune (ECM/TCM)
Mail in Bench Tune (ECM/TCM)
This is ONLY for stock vehicles that want all the basic things that can be done without live datalogging the vehicle.
- Speed Limiter Disabled
- Rev limiter increased to recommended value "For example 5800 on a stock LS4"
- Trans pressure increased
- Torque converter pressure increased
- Torque converter lockup disabled for lower gears (Helps extend the life of lockup, specially in trucks, and makes the vehicle feel more responsive)
- Disable DOD/MDS, a common component that fails due to the actuation of the lifter collapsing, causing them to get stuck in the collapsed position
- Crackle/Burble tune, this depends on the vehicle
- Disable all Throttle and Torque Limiters, this allows the throttle to open 100% as soon as request without "ramping in".
- Disable abuse modes that can cause violent bucking in some vehicles such as front wheel drive, and burnouts in Camaros , trucks, etc.
- Disable power enrichment delays, and retune power enrichment to kick in with less throttle.
There are many other things done in the tune to help the vehicle more responsive, this is the main things that most people will understand without going into a deeper explanation.
FAQ:
What's the difference between bench tune, and a live tune. The main thing is with a live tune is that fueling cannot be corrected. Problems with the vehicle cannot be seen with a mail in bench tune. If you have issues with oxygen sensors, maf sensors, torque converter not locking up properly etc,
